Biomimetic Functional Hydrogel

Operation of energy harvesting devices suffer from severe instability against light, heat, and moisture. In this regard, it is necessary to introduce a protective layer for long-term durable photoelectronic devices. We have developed a biomimetic multi-functional hydrogel based protective layer for energy harvesters. Highly transparent and porous hydrogel was employed as a protector for the photoelectrode and chiral perovskites, which enables us to suppress photocorrosion and phase decomposition, thereby leading to a remarkable stability enhancement.
